Testosterone treatment reduces HbA1c-Wert in diabetic patients

That diabetics frequently of erectile dysfunction (ED) has affected his reason: Not only the increasing deterioration of the situation in diabetic vascular makes a aureichende blood flow to niece, and the testosterone values are often significantly decreased.

Reduced sexual desire is the result. While in the normal population is around 20 to 30% decreased testosterone levels can be established, there is the risk of Typ-2-Diabetiker twice as high for obese men 2.4 times as high. That reversed men with an elevated testosterone levels one to 42% decreased risk of diabetes, was last year in the American Medical Journal published.

Obesity promotes testosterone-reducing

The reason for the low testosterone levels is the changing metabolic situation, especially in metabolic syndrome. Due to the higher proportion of fat tissue is an activity where typically occurring enzyme, which Aromatase increases. This builds the testosterone in the blood.

Therapy has positive metabolic effects

The solution may be a substitution therapy with testosterone. It does this not only on an improvement in terms of erectile dysfunction, but also a positive impact on the metabolism of the patient. In some pilot studies, which at this Urologen-Kongress in Berlin, was able to type 2 diabetics with testosterone deficiency after substitution also a reduction of NĂĽchternblutzuckers and a reduction in the HbA1c-Wertes identified.
However, these results with caution, as they registered to individual patients. A confirmation of these effects is still pending, studies on the subject, however, already running.
